Bob and Sarah McLynn fell in love with Windham and saw what the town was missing: a true mountain brewery. Built on a love of beer, music, skiing, and New York pride, Windham Brewing is here to bring great beer, good people, and local energy to the heart of the mountains.

The Journey Begins

Bob McLynn first experienced the beauty of Windham, New York, as a kid coming up to ski the local slopes. Fast forward thirty years, and he returned to the mountain town, this time bringing his wife, Sarah, and their two young daughters so they could learn to ski just as he did.

Sarah, a proud Buffalo native and former St. Lawrence University basketball standout, immediately fell in love with the town's beauty. As a die-hard New Yorker, she declared that Windham would be their permanent home, prompting the family to buy a house on Cave Mountain, right next to the scenic trails of Windham High Peak.

Inspired by a 1994 European punk rock tour where he first discovered the local pride of overseas breweries, he eventually channeled that inspiration into launching successful craft breweries in San Diego and New Jersey.

After years of meticulous planning, they transformed a former downtown pizzeria right off the Batavia Kill River, officially opening their doors to the public the day after Thanksgiving 2024.
